Removable Media Encryption
USB memory and other removable media devices pose one of the greatest
threats to corporate data. While the low cost of these devices make a lost
unit seem trivial, the value of the content and damage to a business caused
by its loss may be enormous. Although DESlock+ full-disk encryption extends
to these devices, data can also be encrypted at a file level.
These encryption
methods and the ability to limit or prevent the use of removable media may
be enforced as policies through the DESlock+ Enterprise Server. Unlike other
systems, DESlock+ encrypts these devices using its unique shared
encryption keys, so that users may simultaneously access and utilise data
stored on removable media within existing key-usage structures, without ever
having to share or disclose a password.
