The DESlock+ Shredder allows secure deletion of any file on the PC. The DESlock+ Shredder is accessible via an icon on the user's Desktop or by right clicking on a file you wish to shred.

                 

The DESlock+ Shredder may also shred files in other locations. Previously deleted files that are in the Recycle Bin can be shredded along with other files such as your IE browser history and cache, your Recent Documents and Temporary File folders.

DESlock+ Shredder Settings allow the user to choose the warning level when shredding files. As some temporary files may be locked open at the time of shredding, unnecessary errors may be received. This general warning on any file can be modified to only warn about specific file types.

The DESlock+ Shredder may use one of two methods to shred files. Either writing a cryptographically secure random number stream over the file; Or using the US Department of Defence 5220.22-M standard for sanitising data.
